Environmental protection and safety of our production processes and products are a permanent and integral part of our corporate culture. Internal guidelines with worldwide validity secure the standardised local realisation of our environmental efforts. To protect our employees, neighbours and the environment our products, processes and production facilities have to fulfil high demands in environmental and safety matters.

Ciba is adhering to the "Responsible Care" principles of the chemical industry with regard to

At all our sites we are engaged in safe working conditions which in turn ensure the health and safety of our employees. Our plants are run according to high security standards set by our approved integrated management system including both environment, health, safety and quality. By this we protect our neighbours too.

Important aspects of our safety concept are risk analyses on a periodic basis and intensive trainings of our employees.

Safety data sheets inform our employees and customers about safe and environmentally compatible handling, processing, storing, transport and disposal of our products. Efficient protection and rescue facilities at all our sites are available around the clock to ensure a quick response in case of emergency. Our on-site fire brigades provide support in case of accidents beyond the sites and are integrated into the national emergency organisation of the chemical industry (TUIS).  

All German sites are certificated by DIN EN ISO 14001
